This is such an excellent book for the modern teacher, whether homeschooler or in a classroom. Anne informs and inspires us with practical and philosophical discussions of Charlotte Mason's (and those she taught) principals and practices. The philosophy is just enough to inspire, which I find very helpful as a homeschool mother. I need the "why" behind the how in order to do the hard work of the nitty gritty day to day. The practical is invaluable, as Anne gives many examples of how to implement the principals and philosophy she is touting. Her analogies are spot on and helped me to see CM (and friends') writing in a new light. I especially like how she brings CM into the current day while not eschewing the good and great books of the past, as well as relating CM philosophy with other current research and understanding of the human person.Product details

Minds More Awake The Vision of Charlotte Mason eBook Anne E White Reviews
What an apt title for a book about helping children live fully awake to all the beauty and knowledge that surrounds them. We see in Anne White's book a clear understanding of the meaning behind the Charlotte Mason method of education, and she has such a wonderful conversational style that the knowledge is shared as if from a trusted friend and mentor. I highly recommend it! You will find that Miss Mason's ideas click into place after reading this book. Five stars!

I really enjoyed Anne’s straightforward writing style and her use of quotes and Charlotte Mason’s own books. This helped me get a bigger picture of what her philosophy looks like practically.
